It’s been a while since I’ve presented at a conference. I’ve missed it. I presented at Amps Toronto: Applying Education in a Complex World this week. You can read about my presentation elsewhere on this website, but presenting is not what I missed—I have missed the inspiring discussions after the presentations.

Today’s session was hosted via Zoom, so I got to rub shoulders with design educators in Bahrain, Newcastle, Milan, and Toronto. How cool is that? After the session, we discussed each other’s work and shared perspectives on teaching and learning (and design). Sitting in my office at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I learned from inspiring educators, then trotted to teach my interaction design course a few feet away. Ideas from four countries inspired me, and I passed these discoveries along to learners in my class. What a world we live in!
