Week 07 2024

I’ve been thinking about humans’ corporeal nature.

People need food and water. They must sleep and need a safe place to do so. Some people menstruate. They get sick, break arms, and must travel to school, work, or see loved ones. People have no choice in these matters. People have bodily functions and suffer hurts, and there’s no avoiding them.

But though these are “normal” parts of being alive, they cost money. Those who do not have money or a means to trade something of value don’t eat. They have nowhere safe to sleep. They suffer pain but have no way to seek treatment.

Its absurdity hit me today.
