Workshop Description
This continuing education workshop prepares long-term care administrators to leverage generative AI technologies while managing associated risks and responsibilities. Participants will develop practical skills in three key areas: (1) understanding how generative AI functions and its appropriate applications in healthcare settings, (2) using AI tools to address common administrative challenges in hiring, communication, documentation, and operations, and (3) establishing policies and protocols that protect resident information and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. The workshop balances opportunity with caution, providing participants with the critical-thinking skills necessary to evaluate AI vendors’ claims and distinguish between beneficial applications and potentially harmful uses.
