Christmas Eve. This is my favorite day. And Christmas Eve night—right now—is my favorite time of my favorite day.
I’m wrapped in magic and mystery. I’m keenly aware of my blessings and privileges and how I can use these to pass on blessings to others. Moments like these position us in the universe. A few moments, a blip, a few square feet in the vast scope of time and space. Okay, yeah, that sounds lofty. But I feel it. I am small, and my life is small. We have only now.
And right now, I have my favorite version of Christmas Is (KVIL Christmas VOL. II, 1983) in my ears, and the Christmas tree is glowing in front of me.
I’m 8 years old and 48 years old all at once.
