Week 24 2024

King’s Island may be my new favorite place to work. I’m at KI today with my daughter and her boyfriend. While I usually spend the whole day riding rides, and I’m here, I decided to bring my laptop into the park with me to continue working on the redesign of the Design Workbench website. We have season passes and drink passes, so I have been hopping from one spot of shade to another with a fresh drink and work progress. Around five or six tonight, I’ll put the laptop away and ride some rides.

Coffeehouses are often popular places to work because they have a din—a kind of low noise—that supports focus. I am pleased to report that carneys, laughing families, and screams at the top of roller coaster drops create the same energy. It’s a lovely place to work, and the weather today is crisp and warm (but not hot).

I’d better get back to work so I’ll have time for a few rides on Mystic Timbers and The Beast!
